Local services and activities in Burnham

There are many organisations in Burnham providing a wide range of services and activities to the local community. These include:

Burnham Health Promotion Trust (BHPT)

BHPT is a registered charity with its office base in Burnham Health Centre.

BHPT’s aim is to promote, sustain and enhance health and wellbeing throughout the local community and to this end it provides and supports a wide variety of local activities and services.

Within the Health Centre these include Happy Feet Toe Nail cutting and a range of services in the Community Meeting Room including Citizen’s Advice Bureau. Please speak to reception for a referral form for the Toe Nail cutting service or to book an appointment with the CAB advisor.

Other services in the Community Room include Time to Talk Bucks Youth Counselling, Connection Support and One Recovery Bucks. Patients can refer themselves to these services – for more details see posters on the noticeboards by the Pharmacy or by the Community Meeting Room or contact Burnham Health Promotion Trust on 01628 661441.  

BHPT’s community based activities include chair-based exercise, local health walks, ballroom dancing, Gym in the Park, Tai Chi, Movers and Shakers and Carers’ Support.

Burnham Community Association (BCA)

BCA is a registered charity providing a range of activities and services including help with transport

Burnham Good Neighbour Scheme – Volunteer drivers provide door to door transport to hospital, health centre and other health related appointments. This service is for people without other transport available. Donations towards expenses welcomed. Tel. 07508 240762

Burnham Community Association Minibus  Provides transport to many local older people’s groups. Also a weekly shopping trip to Asda’s. Passengers collected from and returned to their homes. Tel. 07468 840185.
