GENERAL PRACTICE REGISTRARS
Burnham Health Centre is a training practice for young Doctors who want to make their careers in general practice.
This means that the practice has to achieve high standards and be regularly inspected to ensure that those standards are maintained.
By achieving "training" status the practice is able to train young fully qualified Doctors (GP Registrars), who come to us with an experienced hospital background, prior to becoming GP principals in their own right.
Dr Jamil, Dr Clarke, Dr Rajsingh, Dr Bhargava and Dr Kochhar are the current GP Trainers. This enables the practice to train five GP Registrars each year.
As part of their on going training and qualification the GP Registrars are required to present some video consultations to the Royal College of General Practioners. Patients may be asked to allow their consultation to be videoed. This will only be done with the full, unequivocal consent of the patient concerned.
The GP Registrars at this practice for the forthcoming year are:
Dr Bahra (f)
Dr Ojidu (m)
Dr Hamelmann (f)
Dr Carr (f)
Dr Sivarajah (m)
This Practice is also involved in the training of 5th year medical students from Guy's, Kings and St Thomas's Hospital and University College Hospital.
