Community Midwives

The initial assessment of a woman with a positive pregnancy test is carried out by the GP. Thereafter every antenatal patient is seen regularly either by the GP or midwife at the antenatal clinic based at this surgery. We share care of our patients with Wexham Park Hospital where antenatal patients attend for scans and specialist assessment. Postnatal care is carried out by the midwife and Health Visitors and the Postnatal Examination is carried out by your GP.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors are currently based at Burnham Health Centre and can be contacted Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

They are able to advise on health care and the promotion of good health particularly for expectant mothers, young children, the elderly and disabled. They also organise “Positive Parenting” courses for parents with pre-school and school age children (details available upon request) and they work closely with the doctors at this practice in child health surveillance.
